Description We are in search of a TESS Specialist to join our team based in NEW YORK, New York. As a TESS Specialist, you will be tasked with executing and maintaining standardized tax processing practices, providing tax support in various areas, and ensuring service quality through timely and accurate responsiveness. This role presents an opportunity to apply your strong attention to detail, communication skills, and technical aptitude in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Handle the setup of new clients, tracking due dates, and reporting on tax return delivery workflow.
• Prepare tax client documents such as engagement letters, statements of work, and other requested deliverables.
• Monitor and execute the e-file process, ensuring returns are released correctly and filing deadlines are met.
• Oversee the printing and assembling of tax returns, ensuring all required client deliverables are included in documents saved to document management system.
• Take ownership of client workpaper scanning, if applicable, and maintain accuracy in the document management system.
• Exhibit effective time management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet busy season tax filing deadlines.
• Utilize your strong technical skills to navigate a variety of tax software and company tools.
• Demonstrate strong decision-making skills and the ability to work independently.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to support client teams and strategic initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients
• Proficiency in reporting and maintaining accurate records
• Ability to provide training and guidance to team members
• Strong emphasis on quality and attention to detail
• Experience with scanning and filing procedures
• Knowledge of tax accounting principles and practices
• Familiarity with monitoring tools for tracking project progress
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to execute tasks within deadlines
• Proficiency in tax preparation and filing, including e-File systems
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Excel and Word
• Experience with printing and document management systems
• Ability to deliver high-quality results consistently
• Strong decision-making skills to handle complex situations
• Experience in preparing and filing tax returns
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary to meet strategic goals
• Experience with 'Join Me' or similar collaborative tools is a plus
