The Role

DESCRIPTION:

Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a professional, self-motivated, experienced individual to play a lead role in developing and implementing our learning and development strategy. The Technology Learning & Development Manager will be committed to providing an environment for continuous learning leading to greater staff engagement throughout the Americas region. A successful incumbent should be innovative, creative and understand the dynamics and challenges of a global organization. Additionally, the individual must be skilled at developing courseware, have strong presentation skills and have proficiency in adult learning, creating high-level training courses that incorporate experiential learning activities to meet the needs of a varied audience. The role is based in our New York office and will report to the Regional Technology Manager - Americas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate learning through various delivery methods, including in-person instruction, virtual training, workshops and coaching on applications and processes.
  • Keep abreast of new training techniques and methods, including the use of technologies such as micro-learning, AI (artificial intelligence) and concepts to promote anywhere/anytime learning.
  • Responsible for developing and managing Learning & Development Specialists in the region.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to assess learning needs, instructional goals, and outcomes and determine the best way to design and develop training programs.
  • Create, evaluate, provide oversight, and make recommendations on training materials, visual aids, and presentations.
  • Advise and recommend to the Regional Technology Manager learning needs to deliver the strategic direction of organizational Learning & Development Programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee the New Hire onboarding experience for new employees in connection with technical training.
  • Collaborate with technology teams (regional and global) on testing new applications and product upgrades.
  • Collaborate with the LTA team to develop strategies to adopt technology to improve quality of work or increase productivity.
  • Identify opportunities for innovative and creative approaches to learning and development and lead the implementation of new initiatives as appropriate.
  • Maintain training records and use data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of learning programs and initiatives and use customer feedback to continuously improve the quality and impact of our L&D solutions.
  • Promote best practices among various end-user communities through outreach, communication, and direct assistance.
  • Participate with teams on implementation support by assisting end users in resolving problems that require an advanced skill set.


Qualifications

Your Experience

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of technical training experience in a professional services organization; law firm experience is required.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree is preferred; minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Exceptional team management and leadership skills, with a proven ability to develop and lead trainers in a client service-focused environment.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and exceptional customer service skills; the ability to communicate clearly, credibly, and diplomatically with all levels in an organization and build effective relationships is critical.
  • Solid understanding of standard business software including Document Management Systems, legal template and numbering software, Timekeeping software, Microsoft Office Suite, Webex, and MS Teams.
  • Experience creating training videos, animations, or online materials using Adobe Captivate, or Camtasia.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including patience, tact, and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications and legal-specific software packages.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and be part of a team.
  • Able to build trusting relationships with employees as well as motivate and inspire a team. to create strong learning outcomes Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools.
  • Must be able to work 3 days in the office and adjust as needed subject to business needs.
  • Must be flexible to travel to other firm offices for training delivery, team initiatives and new software rollouts.
  • Must be independently legally authorized to work in the United States.
