The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking Technician B to assist with the study of ocular disease biology. The technician will work in the Balasubramanian laboratory and assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and research scientists in executing the aims of funded grants and carrying out standard lab procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior scientists in the laboratory with basic lab management.
  • Managing mouse colonies.
  • Perform basic molecular biology techniques.
  • Conduct data analyses.
  • Assist in manuscript preparation and data presentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, or related science or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR and mouse handling.
