Overview
Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) serves over 5 million customers who use ConEd services daily. The AMI team focuses on providing better services to our external and internal customers. This team collaborates to implement improvements in AMI systems, design integrations, and create business cases aimed at better serving our internal stakeholders, such as Customer Operations, Electric Operations, Customer Service/Billing, Gas Operations, and others. These technology innovations are driving business change that will touch every ConEd customer.The IT Technical Associate will be part of the AMI solution architect team, focusing on designing and architecting solutions, providing exceptional customer service, and being an integral team member.In this role, the IT Technical Associate will collaborate with various IT teams and departments to continuously improve AMI applications while ensuring compliance with corporate computing security standards. As a member of the AMI IT team, the Technical Associate will actively participate in all project areas, working closely with different teams.Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities- Work with the business team to gather and analyze requirements, with guidance from the Solution Lead, architect new solutions and integrations, and enhance existing ones. Develop functional designs and transition the design to AMI application teams for implementation.
- The technical associate must understand SDLC, Agile methodology, relational databases, and systems development, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail.
- In collaboration with the Solution Lead, work on solutions and issues requiring coordination with business, IT, testing and external teams, including vendors, to ensure effective resolution.
- Make recommendation and develop a plan to transform ideas into solutions and designs, implement solutions to improve business processes.
- Clearly articulate issues or concepts to IT and business users. Facilitate communication between business and technical team.
- Assist the AMI Solution Architect team in analyzing requirements, developing solutions, addressing issues, and updating documentation.
- Must be able to communicate design/solution approach and present to project team. Able to interact with all levels of management and communicate the solutions/designs to technical and non-technical audience.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, project status including daily stand-ups and sprint planning meetings.
- Ensures implementation of Company safety, health, and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensures that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
- Participates in the Company's emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience- Bachelor's Degree Bachelors degree in computer science or IT related preferred. and Recent college graduates must have one (1) year of work experience (full-time and/or internships); OR,
- Six (6) months experience considered if participated in the company's CO-OP or summer CO-OP internships
- 1 year experience in IT related activities like gathering requirement, solutioning/design & etc. Required
- Knowledge of writing, executing, and debugging SQL queries. Required
- Experience architecting or solution designs to implement integrations. Required
- Exposure to methods relating to application design, software development, and testing. Required
- Capable of working independently or with a team. Required
- Leadership, talent development and team minded qualities. Required
- Ability to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while meeting deadlines. Required
- Exposure to systems design across one or more platforms and supporting future integrations of these systems. Required
- Performs a role in various business initiatives to support IT and business. Supports the project roadmaps and collaborates with the project team members. Required
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and facilitate functional requirements and design meetings. Required
- Demonstrates the value in taking an iterative and agile approach. Preferred

- Available to work weekend/off-hours if required to support cut-over and other activities. Preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Driver's License Required
- Sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday
- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
- Ability to read small print and symbols
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
