RSM US LLP Tax Senior Associate - Financial Services/Asset Management in New York, New York

RSM's Financial Services practice serves a range of clients in the asset management, capital markets, financial institutions, specialty finance and insurance industries. On this particular team, you'll work with clients in the asset management industry with a focus on private equity funds, hedge funds and/or FoF clients utilizing top in-field technology and national resources. Please note: This is a Hedge Fund specific position. Our team focuses on tax compliance and tax consulting for some of the most complex and well-known funds in the industry.
As a Tax Senior Associate, you will be responsible for the following job duties, which are centered around two core concepts: your technical & quality expertise, and delivering excellent client service.
Responsibilities:
Preparing complex Private Equity, Hedge Fund and/or FoF partnership tax returns
Detailed review and analysis of Tax returns
Performing, documenting, and summarizing research and conclusions regarding specific tax issues
Develop, motivate, and train staff level and intern team members
Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, concerns, etc.
Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
2+ years of experience in business taxation working for a Big 4 or a large national, regional or local accounting firm; or equivalent in industry or with a law firm
Must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam, EA or a licensed JD
Experience preparing and reviewing returns
Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters of Accounting, Masters of Taxation or MBA preferred
Active CPA, JD/LLM, or EA
Strong technical skills in accounting, tax preparation and review within the Asset Management industry preferred

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $88,400 - $167,200Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
