Talent Relations & Events Intern: NYC - Summer 2025

Your New Role

This internship will be located in the NYC area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule.

The NY-based Talent Relations (TR) & Events intern will help with HBO/Max/US Network events and HBO/Max/Magnolia Network talent relations. This role provides interns with great opportunities to learn about planning impactful events from the ground up and how to implement smart talent relations. The TR & Events teams work closely with Publicity, Marketing, Development, and many other teams across the company. Our teams work hard to engage talent in meaningful ways that benefit both the talents' projects and the company.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Keep department contact sheets up-to-date with updated series regulars/EPs and rep contact info.

  • Create contact sheets for new shows

  • Reach out to reps to gather talent/EP birthdays and add to corresponding grids

  • Track when shows are starting production and help with start of production gifts

  • Help purchase gifts as needed

  • Assist in brainstorming + researching gift ideas

  • Draft talent itineraries for premieres, festivals, awards ceremonies, FYCs, and other special events

  • Update finance grids to track talent travel and glam costs (if needed)

  • Keep department events calendar up to date weekly

  • Attend brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas on event concepts

  • Assist with the development of event rundowns, post event recap and presentation decks, and communications materials related to the event

  • Develop, manage and track guest lists for upcoming events

  • Assisting with coordinating team meetings with internal departments and outside vendors

  • Occasionally help the Awards team as needed with special projects

  • Help brainstorm and research charities for department donations and create donation cards

  • Work events on-site as needed

  • Come into the office to work 2-3x/week or as needed

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience with office tools such as Google Suite, Microsoft 365 applications, and SharePoint/OneDrive

  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with persons on all levels, in person and on the telephone.

  • Extremely organized, thorough, accurate, and meticulously detail-oriented

  • Must have the ability to work well under time constraints.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities

  • Charismatic and creative.

  • Self-motivated, reliable and able to work and think independently while being a solid team player

  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)

  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior undergraduate Student (18 years or older) ​

  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.

  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. What to know before applying:

  • The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.

  • Program date options:

  • Option 1: June 2nd – August 15th

  • Option 2: June 9th – August 22nd

  • Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity .

  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.

  • Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for roles in locations where legally required. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns, $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
