About the Internship

This Civil Design group is primarily responsible for conceptual and final design services across a diverse portfolio of Port Authority facilities, including airports, ports, tunnels, bridges, and rail infrastructure. Areas of design include runways, taxiways, roadways, pavements, utilities, storm water, site civil, freight and passenger rail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D

• Assist with Construction Cost Estimates

• Perform routine site design for storm drainage, utilities, paving, grading or rail

• Assist with contract document compilation

Minimum Qualifications

• Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester

• Major in Civil Engineering

Desired Qualifications

• Interest in site civil engineering design

• Basic understanding of AutoCAD

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

• Some relevant civil engineering coursework completed

Internship Details

• The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025

• The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025

• This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)

• The format is expected to be hybrid

Compensation & Benefits

• The hourly rate range is $17.63 to $29.57 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
