Position Summary
We are seeking a Nurse Interventionist at the School of Nursing that will help deliver a 12-week nurse-led intervention our team created to reduce CVD risk among sexual and gender minority adults.
Ideal candidates will have a nursing background, previous experience in delivering health education, and comfort in working in diverse communities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct all research activities following study protocols and other appropriate institutional regulations, procedures, and policies, including procedures to safeguard the confidentiality of study participants.
- Administer the intervention sessions
- Assist with database design, security, data storage, and management
- Participate in progress reports, data entry, and IRB protocol modifications/submissions;
- Engage with community members to disseminate study findings;
- Prepare manuscripts and abstracts for dissemination of research findings;
- Complete literature reviews as needed
- Provide support for technical and research tasks to research associates and research assistants; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Evening hours may be required. This is a grant-funded position and employment is contingent upon continued funding
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing
- Must be a current Columbia DNP student.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on psychology or primary care
- Experience in research or health education
- Experience conducting research involving the LGBT community or other marginalized populations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with electronic data capture systems
- Organized and able to multitask in a diverse research environment
- Flexibility in workload and work hours to meet deadlines and recruitment goals
- Capable of working effectively in research groups
