Staff Analyst I (TA): $71,255 (Min) - $84,357 (Max) (New Hire Rate: $61,958)
Staff Analyst II (TA): $82,736 (Min) - $92,147 (Max) (New Hire Rate: $71,946)
Associate Staff Analyst (TA): $93,528 (Min) - $121,095 (Max) (New Hire Rate: $81,328)

NOTE: TA employees must be permanent in the Staff Analyst, Associate Staff Analyst title in order to be considered, or be reachable on the Staff Analyst Series civil service list when established.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will perform background checks and several activities in support of MTA’s vendors vetting evaluation process. These tasks include:
(1) Research using internal and external public websites and subscription services.
(2) Collect and analyze vendor performance data for timely preparation of vendor performance report.
(3) Interact with multiple departments and agencies for required shared information.
(4) Plan, coordinate, and conduct vendor interventions (responsibility hearings) and related tasks to assist MTA in determining vendor integrity and responsibility; and
(5) Maintain internal vendor database information, including sensitive vendor files, as required.
Education and Experience
Associate Staff Analyst
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies, or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management, or in a related area; or
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory fulltime professional experience in the areas described in "1" above; or
An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in “1” above; or
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and seven years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in “1” above; or
A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to “1”, “2”, “3”, or “4” above. College
education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience as described in “1” above.
Staff Analyst I & Staff Analyst II

A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", "3", or "4" above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school diploma.
Special Note:
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, one additional year of professional experience as described in "2" above.
Desired Skills
Demonstrate knowledge and experience in research using various tools and subscription databases such as Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, Dun & Brad, and Hoovers.
Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly proficiency with Microsoft Access.
Ability to independently research various business topics and condense results into summary reports is desirable.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Strong analytic teamwork and interpersonal skills.
