Reporting to the Director, News Group FP&A, this key role on the News Group finance team will be responsible for consolidated News Group financial analysis and reporting. This includes pacing, budgeting and long-range forecasting, partnering with finance teams across all News Group brands (NBC News, TODAY, MSNBC, CNBC, Local Stations, Telemundo, and the RSNs) to build a consolidated story.

The SFA, News Group FP&A will also help coordinate and report on the News Group’s Non-TV and digital portfolio, from consolidation and reporting to supporting operational partners on identifying areas of growth as well as risk.

This role also supports the Director and SVP of News Group FP&A on group wide ad-hoc projects as needed across all brands.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Consolidate and report actuals, quarterly estimates, strategic and operating plans (LRP and Budget), and related variances for their budgets.

  • Coordinate the quarterly closes for the FP&A Director, including helping to process recurring journal entries and helping to manage the actuals vs. budget reconciliation. 

  • Perform advanced analyses that provide insightful views into the operations and financial performance of the News Group and broader Non-TV portfolio, as well as a point of contact for resolution of financial questions with our operating and FP&A partners.   

  • Create ad-hoc financial reports and models to support evolving business needs.

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

  • Minimum 2 year of experience in Finance or Accounting

  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite products - particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and summarize complex data and information in order to build financial models and presentations to senior leadership

  • Able to understand key drivers behind variances, building a consolidated financial story across multiple P&Ls

  • Solid interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

  • SAP/BPC experience

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments and work well in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be accurate, highly organized with great attention to detail

  • Proactive approach to problem solving including analytical and information system skills

  • Demonstrated work ethic and follow through

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
