Responsible for providing technical leadership to a team of data scientists delivering advanced data analyses, statistical models, and machine learning systems to empower the Product team to build a world-class product and maximize customer growth. As a demonstrated expert in core modeling techniques including predictive, classification, and unsupervised clustering, work has impact and influence on large company initiatives. Responsible for tackling new nebulous or ad hoc challenges to apply novel approaches and develop innovative solutions. Champion our long-term strategy to accelerate customer and business success through data-driven personalization. Depended on to resolve competing priorities and negotiate various perspectives to ensure productive outcomes. Daily job duties will include:Define, scope, implement and launch new data science initiatives and projects.Lead changes to the data science and machine learning tools and technologies, and define best practices for the entire analytics and data science team.Direct and inform cross-functional efforts to align interdependencies of data science projects with leaders in product, engineering, and product marketing groups.Play a major role in building and shaping the team's objectives and key results, ensuring they are on strategy.Telecommuting permitted. Position reports to employer’s HQ in New York, NY and must reside within normal commuting distance of HQ to facilitate office visits 3 days per week.Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, a related quantitative field or foreign equivalent, plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a data scientist, data analyst, analytics engineer, or similar occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, a related quantitative field or foreign equivalent, plus 3 years of experience as a data scientist, data analyst, analytics engineer, or similar occupation. Experience must include:3 years of coding experience and fluency with scripting and data analysis programming languages, like Python and SQL.3 years of experience with statistical analysis and data modeling techniques, including regression, clustering, and dimension reduction.3 years of experience performing exploratory data analysis and working with unstructured data to uncover and translate insights into actionable recommendations.3 years of exposure to and contributing to machine learning system development, including tracking metrics for deployed models to monitor performance, testing models against new data and developing model updates in response to changes.3 years of experience and/or exposure to distributed data processing systems.3 years of experience with data analysis and reporting tools, for example Tableau, Looker, Amplitude, and/or Mixpanel.3 years of experience collaborating with and understanding the needs of Senior level stakeholders from a variety of functions including: Engineering, Product, and Operations.Annual Base Salary: $170,373 USDCV to sqspapply@squarespace.com, Ref.
