Part of the broader Strategic Equity Solutions (SES) team within Markets, the Special Equity Transactions Group (SETG) originates and executes a variety of equity transactions for publicly traded corporations, insiders, and financial sponsors:
Structured and open market share repurchase programs
At-the-market equity offerings
Rule 10b5-1 trading plans
Rule 144 stock sales (block trades and dribble-outs)
Dutch auction and fixed price self-tender offers
Quiet stock accumulations in connection with M&A transactions
SETG seeks a motivated individual to support its expanding business model. The role will provide valuable exposure to new business origination, equity trading, derivatives structuring, and legal/regulatory issues. Primary responsibilities will include supporting the origination and trading teams with respect to all of SETG’s product offerings:
Structuring and proposing client-specific execution strategies
Working directly with traders to manage Rule 10b5-1 plan execution
Identifying market trends and providing relevant analysis
Creating and refining client presentation materials
Maintaining a proprietary database of market and client activity
Managing the regulatory elements and clearance/settlement of Rule 144 sales
This individual will have demonstrated strong academic performance, a high level of commitment and reliability, and a meticulous eye for detail. He or she must also have excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. A thorough understanding of spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications (MS Excel/PowerPoint/Access) is required. Candidates with active Series 7, 63, and 79 registrations are preferred, as such registrations will eventually be required.
