MongoDB, Inc. Software Engineer in New York, New York
DUTIES: Design, develop, test, monitor, and debug software related to Realm Cloud Sync, a distributed, multi-tenant data platform as a service. Develop code for company’s core database and related software products. Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of existing features across products. Write clear and easily reusable production-ready code. Write and execute test plans, debug test failures, and prescribe and implement bug fixes. Advocate for usability throughout the design and development process. Maintain expertise on cutting edge database research from industry. Design and review project specifications for new software features and participate in code reviews. Estimate task complexity and report progress and risks to peers and managers. Represent company at conferences, hackathons, and career fairs. Interview candidates for software engineering positions. Must be available to work in office 3 days per week. Working from home permissible 2 days per week.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science or related field and two (2) years of experience in Software development in a backend-focused distributed systems capacity or in the job offered or related role. Experience and/or education must include: 1.Software Development Lifecycle; 2.Reading, reviewing, and reasoning about large amounts of code; 3.Understanding of distributed systems and cloud architecture; 4.Experience with at least 3 programming languages including Golang; 5.Lead small to medium size projects individually; and6.Write, review, and understand technical engineering documentation; and7.Write high quality code in Golang, Typescript or similar languagesOTHER: Job Site: 1633 Broadway 38th floor, New York, NY 10019; Must be available to work in office 3 days per week.
