Senior Software Engineer - Ads

New York City, Hybrid

Your goal - To improve of our digital advertising tech and product while continuing to offer students our world class education products as affordably as possible.

Role:

The Ads engineering team administers the codebase responsible for generating digital ad revenue for Chegg. We operate at the cutting edge of advertising technology and are responsible for mediating ad demand sources on our websites. The team also manages traffic allocation and experimentation. We serve billions of ads yearly and provide critical data and support to the reporting metrics pipeline. You will work closely with analysts, designers, and website engineers to plan ad tech strategy and create features to maximize user experience and company revenue.

Our Stack:

* Custom, high-performance, client-side javascript (TypeScript)

* json, node, webpack, AWS (primarily S3, CloudFront, Lambda, ES cluster), gitlab (CI/CD) pipelines

* DFP (Google Ad Manager), DFP API, Prebid.js, GPT

* kinesis, opensearch data pipeline

* Monitoring/alerting in New Relic and Opensearch

* micro-apps in React

Candidate requirements:

* 4+ years software engineering experience, specifically with:

* client-side javascript and the DOM

* programmatic revenue technologies, Prebid.js, Google Ad Manager

Additional experience with the following may be helpful but not required:

* webpack, node, AWS

* ETL/data pipeline processes and databases

Qualified candidates should:

* have a strong foundation in JS and web technologies

* be detail oriented and analytical

* have strong teamworking, coding, and time management habits

* bring a passion for learning and contributing

* have excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to contribute to multiple projects, team goals, and deadlines

The pay range for this position is $97,850 to $242,294. The actual pay will vary based on geographic location, job requirements, professional experience, and other factors.
