Grow your career with an innovative global bank in New York, NY as a Senior Project Manager with a focus on FRTB Standardized Approach. Contract role with strong possibility of extension. Will require working a hybrid schedule 3 days onsite per week.

Will be part of a core central Program Management Team within Markets charged with ensuring the timely execution of deliverables across all workstreams. Will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of FRTB SA components. You will work alongside some of the smartest minds in the industry who are excited to share their knowledge and to learn from you.

Contract Duration: 12+ Months

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/University degree.

  • Market Risk and FRTB regulation experience.

  • SA (Standardized Approach) experience or IMA (Internal Models Approach).

  • Experienced in project management and with sufficient subject matter expertise in the FRTB Standardized Approach.

  • Project management expertise, strong capital markets knowledge and regulatory understanding.

  • Strong knowledge of the FRTB SA regulation and methodology (SBM, DRC, RRAO, Fallback) and Market Risk.

  • Proven track record in strategic project management and delivering complex solutions, ideally within a Tier 1 Bank or Big 4 consultancy firm.

  • Significant experience in Capital Markets Transformation. Strong understanding of risk management principles.

  • Significant experience in scoping, developing and prioritizing plans for strategic initiatives. Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.

  • Excellent oral/written communications and negotiation skills. Must be articulate and persuasive with the judgement and authority to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders.

  • Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively across a global organization and understand different perspectives.

  • Thought leadership in target state design through engaging stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem solving capability.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree.

  • Project Management certifications e.g. PMP or equivalent.

  • 15+ years of financial industry experience at Tier 1 Bank.

  • Experience analyzing large datasets using SQL, Python.

  • Experience in Market Risk, Capital and Regulatory related projects.

  • Experience with data analysis and manipulation relevant to Markets (SQL, JIRA, Tableau, Excel proficient).

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage all multiple projects within the FRTB SA program, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring and closure.

  • Transformation/change management experience with a focus on Capital Markets initiatives to address regulatory, audit, risk and control and/or risk management issues.

  • Working knowledge of Capital Markets business and products (Rates, Credit, FX, Equities, etc.) and regulatory capital requirements.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of FRTB SA calculators and Risk Validation Processes.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across various departments, including, Risk, Finance, Front Office, Technology and Business.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, budget and resource allocation.

  • Manage internal and external dependencies across initiatives, including working closely with Risk Managers, Product Owners, Front Office, Product Control and Technology teams.

  • Identify, assess challenges and proactively seek to resolve, mitigate and/or escalate risk and issues in a timely and well-articulated manner. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Engage senior stakeholders continuously by escalating and resolving issues as they arise.

  • Produce accurate and insightful project update materials and artifacts, tailoring to various forums and committees.

  • Build strong relationships, adopting a joined up approach, to support the execution of programs.
