Amazon Senior Partner Solutions Architect, Quantum, Advanced Compute in New York, New York

As a Partner Solution Architect with AWS, you will be responsible for the technology strategy and senior level relationships with strategic partners in quantum computing. You will use your deep knowledge with quantum computing hardware and/or algorithms to develop partner capabilities and solutions using quantum computing and related technologies on AWS aligned to priorities of academic, enterprise and startup customers. Quantum Computing is a technology that holds promise to be transformational in many industries and you will collaborate with business and technology leaders to grow the AWS partner community for quantum computing and related technologies.

You must possess a combination of scientific background, a drive to solve practical problems using quantum computers in the cloud, and possess customer-facing skills that allow you to represent AWS with senior leaders at partners and customers. You must have the technical depth and business experience to easily communicate the potential and challenges of Quantum Computing, multiple hardware platforms and frameworks in the AWS cloud to scientists, managers, and engineering teams. You also should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. This role requires deep familiarity with state-of-the-art approaches to quantum computing, as well as target use cases using HPC and ML in the cloud.

Key job responsibilities

Define the quantum computing partner strategy, in collaboration with the quantum computing specialist team, service team, and industry teams, to grow the AWS quantum computing partner community.

Define solutions and go to market strategies with partners based on market signals and the partners business priorities.

Architect and support partners to develop advanced solutions leveraging AWS Quantum Computing services and related technologies that accelerate outcomes for customers; provide architectural guidance and recommendations on building solutions efficiently, reliably, and securely on AWS.

Support partners during customer engagements to customize their solutions meet the technical and business priorities of the customer.

Publish technical content such as reference architectures, blogs, or research results in collaboration with internal research teams, partners, or customers to demonstrate outcomes and capabilities with AWS Quantum Computing services and related technologies.

Evangelize AWS Quantum Computing services and partner solutions to the AWS field and customers by developing compelling audience-specific messages and tools (product videos, customer success stories, demos, how to guides, etc.).

Enable partners on AWS quantum computing and related services to enhance their capability to develop solutions and their ability to deliver outcomes for customers using AWS.

Share partner and customer feedback with internal teams to define the product road map, market positioning, and developer program initiatives.

30% travel is required

A day in the life

A typical day might include meeting with partners to support them in defining or building a solution, support them in a customer engagement, or provide training on AWS services and best practices. You will collaborate with others to build and test proof of concepts, write technical content such as blog posts and papers, and evangelize partner and AWS capabilities through public speaking events. You will also work with technical product managers to understand their roadmap and bring them feedback from partners and customers.

About the team

You will be joining a team of partner solutions architects leading the partner strategy and developing the partner community for advanced compute technologies like quantum computing. You will operate as one team with the quantum computing specialist team to define priorities and drive outcomes. You will be a part of the in-house experts in quantum computing working with partners and customers to find new use cases of quantum technologies, promote Amazon Braket, and push the boundary of knowledge by developing new large-scale scientific applications that have broader commercial use. You will also interface with AWS teams supporting customers and partners.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional or military experience

  • Prior experience in quantum technologies, launching and delivering quantum computing experiments and use cases.

  • 3+ years of experience working with enterprise customers, government entities, or global consultancies with a demonstrated ability to assess, design, and run experimental workloads on quantum computers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree (e.g. M.S., PhD) in a quantum computing related field (Quantum Physics, Quantum Chemistry, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics) and a proven academic track record with publication history.

  • 3+ years of experience using gate-based quantum computers (superconducting, ion trap, neutral atom, photonic qubits, etc.), analog quantum simulators, or annealers.

  • 2+ years of research experience with quantum algorithms that have practical applications in industry use cases, optimization, or machine learning.

  • Experience with cloud computing

  • Experience with sales engineering to Fortune 1000 and/or Global 2000 organizations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
