Amazon is seeking a Senior Social Strategist to drive repeatable, breakthrough social constructs that can scale across Amazon brand and retail campaigns. In this role, the individual will take the lead in planning, developing, executing and optimizing compelling social media campaigns for Amazon brand and retail campaigns. Our ideal candidate possesses a high bar for global brand development, social strategy, qualitative and quantitative measurement tools. They also have a strong pulse on social media landscapes including digital video, GenAI and innovative content themes. They will work across various social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Snap, driving long-term strategy and creating engaging content that drives brand and business results. They are customer obsessed, data-driven, detail-oriented, and excited to work in a fast-paced environment. They are comfortable both independently leading content strategy and working in close partnership with internal and external team members with a lens toward innovation, scale and efficiency. Collaboration with internal teams, external stakeholders, and creative partners will be crucial to driving innovative and impactful campaigns.

The ideal candidate will have a mix of marketing, editorial, retail, relationship management and organizational skills. This individual will have deep industry knowledge and the analytical expertise to plan for and measure success on all social campaigns. They will work autonomously, make smart decisions and be seen as an expert in their field. They will demonstrate experience in managing complex cross-functional projects with diverse stakeholders, and juggling multiple competing priorities. They will be comfortable picking up new technologies and sharing their knowledge and learning with team members. They will constantly strive to create innovative, bar-raising content, inclusive campaign work, social-first organic, engagement & UGC content, influencer programs and multicultural initiatives. They will be comfortable experimenting and owning a roadmap that is flexible, adapting to meet the needs of our customers, businesses, stakeholders and partner teams. They will operate in a role of considerable scope and complexity and will have significant impact on our customer experience as well as Amazon’s brand and retail goals.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Own strategy and content production for Amazon brand and retail social campaigns across Meta, TikTok, Snap and YouTube.

  2. Develop creative briefs that inspire breakthrough ideas that our creative teams help bring to life across key SMAs

  3. Project manage social content production campaigns including managing external agencies, partners and cross-functional teams

  4. Own social marketing metrics, goals, and KPIs to measure and track business result to the leadership team and broader organization

  5. Strategically support business and contract negotiations

  6. Collaborate cross-functionally with partners across North American Stores, Creator Growth, PR, creative, media and analytics teams to scale brand campaigns

  7. Research and identify innovative opportunities within new and existing social platforms, production models and formats to drive efficiencies in reaching existing and new customers

  8. Stay continuously informed about audience trends, infusing the brand social space with innovative ideas and content.

About the team

The central XCM org runs the largest and most performative mass marketing portfolio of investments in Amazon's biggest priority brands and businesses, from Prime Day to Super Bowl. We are a small but mighty team of 200 strategic and creative business leaders who make and deliver our customers most loved marketing campaigns for North America and the world.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • 7+ years of developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

  • Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners

  • Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
