Job Information
Dow Jones Senior Correspondent, Wealth in NEW YORK, New York
Senior correspondent, wealth
The Wall Street Journal is looking for a versatile and talented writer to chronicle the world of the ultrarich.
A microscopic group of people control a huge slice of the world’s wealth. Their businesses employ millions, and their spending fuels economies. Their largess can make or break efforts to eradicate disease; their deep pockets sway elections. They’re even battling for supremacy in space. Simply put, they have massive power to shape society.
We are looking for a keen observer capable of ferreting out the stories that will help our readers understand this fascinating world and, by extension, the value society places on the accumulation of great wealth. We want stories about how the rich make their money and how they spend it, who’s managing it for them and what happens when they lose it. We need an exceptional writer of long-form features with an eye for detail.
You will:
*Conceive, report and write must-read features that require minimal editing.
*Embrace video, audio and other non-text storytelling formats.
*Work with reporters across coverage areas to conceive and execute compelling features.
You have:
*At least 10 years of reporting experience and a track record of producing award-winning journalism.
*Top-notch narrative writing skills.
*A steady hand under intense deadline pressure.
*A demonstrated ability to cultivate deep source relationships.
To apply, please provide a resume and cover letter by Friday November 1st.
