Salary Range: $71,400.00 - $85,300.00

Position Summary

Coordinates Dean’s office initiatives and is responsible for compliance with Graduate School’s academic operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees and is responsible for the Graduate School’s faculty nomination and appointment process.

  • Manages the onboarding and credentialing for all Graduate School faculty from WCM, MSK, HSS, and other partners to ensure consistent access to and support for WCM tools and systems.

  • Serves as the central program coordinator supporting the admission process, student outreach and services, and compliance with institutional policies for all WCGS master’s degree programs.

  • Ensures compliance with institutional requirements for new students (Title IX, Intellectual Property, Environmental Health and Safety, etc.).

  • Monitors and tracks compliance of all accreditation processes and expirables (NYSED, Middle States, etc.).

  • Monitors status of all visiting, non-degree, and in-absentia students at the Graduate School to ensure compliance with institutional policies and appropriate academic progression.

  • Supports the Departmental Administrator in developing and executing administrative processes and policies to support and scale up the WCGS PhD programs offered at Houston Methodist Academic Institute.

  • Implements student life programming under the direction of the WCGS Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.

  • Ensures content, design, and navigation of WCGS web pages highlight the priorities of the institution, Dean’s office initiatives, and appropriately support all of the Graduate School’s constituencies (students, faculty, staff, prospective applicants).

  • Plans, coordinates, attends and records quarterly Weill Cornell Graduate School (WCGS) Executive Committee Meetings.

  • Coordinates and attends monthly meetings for the WCGS Social Justice and Anti-Racism task force and the WCGS Trainer Learner Committee.

  • Coordinates and executes events associated with the Dean’s Office initiatives, including but not limited to Science and Society presentations, Three Minute Thesis Competitions, Monthly Dinners with the Dean.

  • Prepares, reviews and triages confidential documentation, presentations, and correspondence.

  • Oversees general Dean’s Office management including maintaining office supplies, processing ITS and telecom requests, managing corporate card expenses, coordinating meetings and managing minutes.

  • Provides calendar coordination and assists with meeting arrangements for the Dean and Departmental Administrator as needed.

  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

Approximately 2-4 years of experience in academic operations/higher education administration.

Experience working on projects for a highly visible office preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required; demonstrated ability to interact effectively with multiple constituencies is necessary.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, database applications, remote work platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
