Job description

We’re currently searching for an experienced business analyst to help guide the development of systems which provide cutting-edge alternative assets to clients. Capco is helping a client build platforms which support alternative investments for their clients and we are looking to bring on an expert with a deep understanding of alternative assets, portfolio management/trading systems & processes, and strong skills as a business analyst to help with the creation of requirements, and overseeing the execution of the vision.

Objectives of this role

  • Determine and write user requirements & user stories, to ensure maximum usability, taking into account user experience

  • Identify best practices and make decisions by evaluating data

  • Serve as a thought leader for the products and the technical business processes – creating the vision for developing innovative systems prototypes

  • Create and implement precise project management plans

  • Ensure transparent communication at all levels and ensure awareness of requirements across business units

  • Perform, evaluate, and communicate quality assurance at every stage of systems development

Responsibilities

  • Write user stories for alternative asset platform features

  • Partner with stakeholders across business units (ex: portfolio managers, quants, marketing, operations, risk, compliance) to develop analyses and documentation in a collaborative way

  • Communicating effectively and efficiently with all stakeholders, occasionally providing senior leadership with monthly status reports

  • Evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements

  • Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver business requirements and documentation

Required skills and qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in a business analyst or technical role within a financial institution

  • Knowledge of alternative assets (real estate, private equity, private credit)

  • Understanding of back-office operations (portfolio management/trading/compliance systems)

  • Proven analytical abilities

  • Strong familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience in generating process documentation and reports

  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science or finance with a strong understanding of technology

  • Strong working knowledge of other Microsoft applications, including Visio

  • Proven ability to manage projects and user testing

  • Extensive experience with data visualization

  • Technical writing (user stories, functional requirements, etc)

New York Pay Range

$106,000—$140,000 USD
