TheSeniorProduction Editor will manageprint and digital titles through the production process from manuscript through bound book or eBook release, working closely with production, managing editorial, editorial, design, and digital to ensure titles are produced accurately and on schedule; hiring freelance copyeditors, proofreaders, and indexers and evaluating their work; managing schedules of each title in our inhouse tracking system; copyediting and proofreadingcover copy and other ancillary material for each title; coding anddeflaggingmanuscripts and preparing for design and typesetting.

The person in this role will work with books in both English and Spanish.

Requirements:

  • Five to seven yearsofexperience intrade bookproduction editorial

  • Native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English

  • Fully skilled in use of Word withtrackchanges for copyediting, coding, anddeflaggingmanuscripts

  • Ability to review copyediting on paper and proofreading both on paper and onscreen

  • Familiaritywith Chicago Manual of Style

  • Comfortableon a Mac

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
