Google Security Engineer, Infrastructure Protection in New York, New York

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 1 year of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.

  • 1 year of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.

  • Experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with posture management.

  • Experience with system hardening.

Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

As a Security Engineer, you will ensure Google's production infrastructure meets top security standards.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000-$168,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Conduct technical assessments, code reviews, and vulnerability testing to identify risks. Help Google teams and partners improve security across various software designs and technology stacks.

  • Perform and research Google's Production Infrastructure for security vulnerabilities, or insecure usage patterns.

  • Develop features for Google's large-scale security assessment platform.

  • Consult and partner with other security teams to secure Google's Production environment.

  • Build automation to detect and remediate security issues. Collaborate with Google Engineers to develop proactive methods for enhancing security.
