Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$69,000 - $179,300
Organization Overview:
At Prevail Therapeutics, we are developing a pipeline of gene therapies to slow or stop the underlying disease process for patients with neurodegenerative disorders. We are leveraging recent breakthroughs in human genetics that point to potential disease-modifying targets for neurodegenerative diseases. Our programs utilize a precision medicine approach targeting patient populations with urgent unmet needs, where there are currently no available therapies that modify the progressive course of their disorders.
The Analytical Development team is a tight-knit group of energetic, smart, fun, and motivated individuals. We work closely on Prevail’s Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV)-based gene therapy programs to progress our mission of curing disease. We are a tight-knit group within Prevail, responsible for developing and running robust and innovative analytical methods to support internal and external manufacturing processes, while also staying on the cutting-edge of industry standards.
While much of the day-to-day operations require wet-lab work, our team focuses on not only building everyone’s technical expertise but also fostering an environment for career growth as scientists in the biopharmaceutical industry. As analytical development relates to quality, process development, preclinical and clinical R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory functions, there is opportunity for exposure to the whole scope of biopharmaceutical industry processes. We are seeking a motivated research associate who can take on ownership of established molecular biology assays as well as contribute to the development of new cutting-edge assays for testing AAVs.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to all aspects of analytical assay development, from design to qualification, for our AAV-based drugs.
Contribute to the development and qualification of new molecular bioassays for AAVs including titer, genomic integrity, and next-generation sequencing assays.
Perform testing in support of Prevail’s AAV programs using techniques such as ddPCR, agarose and capillary gel electrophoresis, and NGS.
Analyze, document, and report data.
Write technical reports and SOPs.
Communicate data within the group as well as across functions.
Basic Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in scientific field.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Lab experience with molecular biology techniques
Prior experience with AAVs is desired but not necessary.
An analytical skill set which may include qPCR/ddPCR, next-generation sequencing, gel/capillary electrophoresis, or others.
Strong understanding of, and preferably experience with, qPCR or ddPCR.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
A passion for learning, understanding, and advancing science.
Motivation to learn new skills both inside and outside the lab.
Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Previous experience in viral vector analytical assays design, data interpretation, and statistical analysis is a plus.
Previous experience in assay automation using TECAN Fluent and/or epMotion is a plus.

Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $69,000 to $123,000 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
