Position Summary:


We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Scientist. The NYU Langone Healths Institute for Excellence in Health Equity IEHE is leading a new initiative that involves partnerships with LiveOnNY our local Organ Procurement Organization The purpose of this project is to create a new opportunity for lung donation and increase the number of life saving lung transplants we are able to perform We are seeking a motivated Research Scientist with strong commitment to health equity The Research Scientist works under the general direction of the Principal Investigators and is responsible for overseeing the general day to day operations of the study The candidate is expected to perform these general functions: Ensure the accurate execution of the study protocol in accordance with Good Clinical Practices HIPAA and the IRB Provides supervision of research support staff interns and Community Health Workers Communicate closely with the Investigators other members of the study team and vendors to provide updates about study progress and related issues Serve as liaison between the research team clinical and community partners

Job Responsibilities:

    • Supervision and Administration: Assist with developing job descriptions to recruit onboard train and supervise a team of community health workers research assistants trainees and interns/volunteers Develop staff training protocols lead staff training and perform staff evaluations Conduct regular supervision meetings serving as a mentor to staff
    • Clinical Trial Support: Develop participant recruitment and engagement strategy and modifications as needed Oversee fidelity to the protocol and ensure proper informed consent process among all team members Work closely with the Data Team to ensure proper development of electronic data capture e g REDCap TrialMaster and development of study digital platforms including the study web site
    • Program Support: Provide lay summaries on study progress to community partners Assist with monthly reports Works to ensure vision of community engagement is implemented including organizing meetings communications and evaluations evenings and some travel may be required Facilitate meetings and webinars Coordinate with appropriate Administrators and oversee timely payments of all consultants
    • Research Support: Contributes to preparation of abstracts and presentations for conferences and professional meetings Assist with grant writing and manuscript preparations Assist with qualitative interviews focus groups and analysis nbsp;
    • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a MS degree and 2 4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree preferably in public health health education psychology population health or medicine Experience working in prior management position; work in prior research position; working knowledge of the field of health care population health health education psychology; prior experience with mixed methods approaches grant application processes IRB and manuscript preparation

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $52,649.99 - $60,949.05 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
