Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate.
The Division of Precision Medicine is seeking a Research Data Associate who will be responsible for providing computational analysis support in research studies under direct supervision by Dr Tsirigos and his team The role involves collaboration with various personnel within the School of Medicine and the Medical Center including data scientists wet lab scientists PIs and trainees and clinicians
Job Responsibilities:
- Quickly learn the computational pipelines we use in the lab
- Be able to write custom code to analyze various types of data
- Use established pipelines and custom code to analyze sequencing data e g single cell RNA seq and/or ATAC seq and spatial transcriptomics
- Use established pipelines and custom code to analyze electronic health records data
- Read scientific publications download and use published datasets download and install published computational tools
- Work closely with bench scientists to understand analyze and help interpret the results of the analysis
- Mine databases for hypothesis generation or validating information
- Perform robust data quality control and validation
- Present the work in meetings and help write manuscripts

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate s degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Computer literate with good interpersonal writing and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree preferably in science public health health education or a related field Prior experience in a health care settings and/or research level interviews Prior patient education experience Basic programming skills and experience in scientific paper literature review and writing are highly desirable

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $51,243.96 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
