Overview

The Program Manager for the Center for the Study of Africa and the African Diaspora (CSAAD) will be responsible for overseeing its programmatic and co-curricular activities and communication, and will serve as the principal coordinator for CSAADs collaboration with other units across all of NYUs campuses. The incumbent will be the authorized person to interact with Fiscal in budgetary matters, and will schedule and arrange guest travel and event sites. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining CSAADs website, its database, its social media accounts, and its weekly newsletter, and will help to prepare the programs annual reports and assessment tools.

Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
5+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include administering academic or community-based programs, preparing budgets, and grant-proposal writing.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years of experience living outside of the U.S., and/or experience working with culturally diverse communities. Experience working in university units with significant involvement in African, Caribbean, African American, and/or Latin American projects.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to develop effective relationships and communicate with diverse populations and stakeholders. Excellent organizational and problem solving skills. Ability to manage work concurrently and communicate with diverse stakeholders. Strong teamwork abilities. Strong proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications. Attention to detail with ability to energetically perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated strong proficiency experience with social media. Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and highly motivated.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency in one or more foreign languages.


Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $74,000.00 to USD $94,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
