Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Purpose of Position:The Program Director is responsible for daily administrative and clinical oversight of social services program operations including staff supervision and collaboration with on-site building manager. The Program Director is responsible for daily program operations, working with funders, data collection and reporting, meeting all government regulations and deliverables, quality provision of services, and budget management. The Program Director will lead the team in proving a full range of case management services as well as medical, psychiatric, and recreational activities. The primary goal is to help individuals remain stably housed in a safe, supportive environment.

Schedule:Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Salary Range:$84,000- $98,000

Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

1)Program Director tasks

Oversee case management, rehabilitation services, program activities, medical services, nutritionist/meals program, groups at both sites.

  • Conduct individual and group supervision; supervise Assistant Program Director, Administrative Assistant, and other staff

  • Responsible for the recruitment, training, and supporting of social service staff: corrective action as needed

  • Facilitate standardization of program policies and procedures, including orientation and onboarding materials Prepare for all internal and external audits, including creating and reviewing submissions of Corrective Action Plans

  • Track and monitor building occupancy and vacancy rate. Schedule tenant interviews, review all eligibility documentation and lead housing interviews; Assess new clients and assign to case managers.

  • Liaison with on-site and off-site medical and psychiatric providers

  • Foster teamwork approach to client service planning, ensure client centered services, utilize evidence-based practices.

  • Track, monitor, and report all positive Covid cases and or symptoms for both programs.

  • Maintain, Track, Monitor and Distribute PPE supplies to staff and tenants on an ongoing basis.

  • Facilitate and coordinate virtual and in person trainings for housing staff.

  • Ensure all incident reporting and follow up is done thoroughly and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure data collection and timely reporting utilizing AWARDS and MAVEN reporting systems.

  • Use data as a tool to tailor services and evaluate program impact with a result orientated mindset.

  • Ensure data management is tied to funder deliverables, housing, Social Determinants of Health, and health outcomes

  • Work with the Clinical Integration Team on the clinical best practices initiative.

  • Run and analyze data reports on service deliverables and use data to tailor supervision agenda.

  • Oversee Clinical Integration Project onsite and manage project deliverables.

  • Ensure oversight of petty cash, purchasing, and check requests

    2) Program oversight

  • Participate in intake/admission meetings of new residents

  • Lead regular staff meetings with to discuss tenant issues and program outcomes

  • Collaborate with Building Manager around facility and safety of staff and tenants

  • Work with several government and private funders to meet all regulations and deliverables

  • Ensure all incident reporting and follow up is done thoroughly and in a timely manner

    3) Community and agency liaison

  • Serve as liaison to other programs in GRCC’s continuum of services to ensure quality service provision and collaboration across the agency

  • Serve as liaison to funders, the community, and outside organizations

  • Work with executive leadership on new initiatives

    4) Program development and improvement

  • Oversee and facilitate program reports and data management

  • Assist in developing program budget and monitor program expenses against budget

  • Prepare and/or review program evaluations and quality improvement plans

  • Develop and maintain relationships with government and private funders

  • Assist with grant writing as needed

    5) Other duties as required

    Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • LMSW preferred, Master’s Degree in related field required with significant relevant experience

  • Experience with homeless individuals with mental illness required

  • Management/Supervisory experience required

  • Experience with transitional or supportive housing required

    Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be:

  • Able to work in the Microsoft Office Suite, should especially be proficient in Word and Outlook

  • Able to use or learn to use AWARDS, MAVEN, Familiar with cloud-based payroll platforms such as Paycom (supervisor/manager functionality)

  • Able to use or learn other electronic databases, programs, and funder-related software as needed

    Physical Requirements

  • Moderate computer work; occasional lifting of up to 30lbs; some walking and climbing stairs to visit clients and access community spaces

    Work Environment

  • Office in housing building and some client home visits may be required
