Citigroup Portfolio Manager- Assistant Vice President - New York in New York, New York

Department Overview :

The Credit Financing team is part of the Spread Products division within Markets. The business focuses on customized financing solutions for strategic clients including large, well-known alternative investment managers. These facilities are backed by a range of assets, including broadly syndicated and private loans to corporate borrowers, and are primarily retained for Citi’s portfolio but may also be securitized into the capital markets or syndicated to other institutional investors. The team is highly collaborative and has built and maintained a market-leading financing franchise for close to two decades. The team manages around USD 30bn of financing globally and continuously expanding.

Role Overview :

To be part of a newly created in-business portfolio management team within the Credit Financing business. The portfolio management team will generally support the Credit Financing business on portfolio management, monitoring, controls, execution, risk and regulatory reporting and analysis

Work Profile Specifics:

The Portfolio Management team will take responsibility for ongoing portfolio management and reporting, including monitoring of borrowing base reports, valuation work, covenant monitoring, and maintaining of collateral databases. The role responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting creation and ongoing management of Borrowing Bases in partnership with Originations and Credit Underwriting teams;

  • Ensuring accuracy and alignment with credit guidelines Spearhead assimilation of Borrowing Bases into internal systems, facilitating seamless ingestion, validation, reporting, and analytics;

  • Proactively managing Credit Risk by monitoring credit quality indicators (e.g., AVAEs);

  • Generating detailed reporting, initiating remediation actions, and maintaining comprehensive process guidelines;

  • Participating in satisfying Regulatory Compliance, including Basel reporting and conformity with applicable standards;

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive the development and execution of Strategic Technology initiatives that support business objectives; and

  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize processes and enhance controls frameworks to mitigate risks and improve operational efficiency

Qualifications :

  • 5-8 years of experience in a related role

  • Knowledge of Credit Financing and Securitizations is preferred but not required

  • Aptitude in risk management, with ability to track, action, and drive process as applicable

  • Awareness of regulatory frameworks, including but not limited to; Basel Capital Calculations and reporting requirements

  • Proficiency in data scalability and integration, including ingestion, validation, and reporting workflows

  • Familiarity with technology-driven process improvements, task automation, and control optimization

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with track record of driving efficiency and accuracy

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as demonstratable ability to comprehend legal documentation (including loan facility agreements)

  • Familiarity of driving change via Technology at scale

  • Proficiency in Excel is mandatory, knowledge of VBA a plus
