Job Description

It’s an exciting time to be part of IFF’s Fragrance Technician team! In this position, you will directly support the Fine Fragrance perfumers by compounding materials in a prescribed formula and to assist with lab workload when assigned by the supervisor.

Also the ability to adapt to changing tasks and instructions based on business demands throughout the day in order to satisfy internal and external customers.

You will spend your time...

  • Compounding essential oils and prepare finished samples

  • Maintain a perfumer’s log of corporate numbers and also targets

  • Maintain a log of approvals and rejections of batches made by the lab

  • Continually renew raw materials and solutions to keep them within their shelf life

  • Properly maintain lab

  • Help other labs when assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Industry knowledge: Technical knowledge of liquid compounding, including raw materials, their handling, use and storage.

  • Computer skills: Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge and comfortable using automated systems

  • and computer task management tools.

  • Must be able to start and complete a task in a dynamic environment:

  • Adapt to changes and priorities due to customer request. Ability to give and receive verbal and written communications.

  • This position has some physical demands. The candidate should have the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

  • (bases/alcohol containers) and should also have the ability to navigate a stairwell multiple times per day (oil

  • retrieval). This same action (oil retrieval) will also require bending and reaching.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelors degree preferred; High-School Diploma or equivalent required

  • 1-2 years previous lab experience

  • SAP knowledge a plus!

Compensation ($50,000 - $60,000) is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and location.

While we are interested in all qualified candidates with the potential to work in the United States, we are not able to sponsor visas. Additionally, to qualify for this position, you must be proficient in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
