JPMorgan Chase Media Relations Associate in New York, New York
J.P. Morgan Wealth Management is the U.S. Wealth Management division of JPMorgan, one of the largest and most respected financial firms in the world. Our business serves clients across the wealth spectrum and helps them plan and invest for their future - how and where they want to invest; they can do it digitally, remotely or in person by meeting with an advisor in one of our Chase branches or in one of our offices.
As a Media Relations Associate you will be a part of the press office supporting the J.P. Morgan Wealth Management Communications team, which acts as a liaison to the media, protects the reputation of the firm and works with our senior executives in developing their voice. You will partner across the firm to ensure the information shared externally is timely and accurate, you will also produce media briefings, plan events, develop talking points, identify media opportunities and own team tracking. The role is critical to our communications strategy, the communications team excels at taking complex financial and regulatory issues and making them easily digestible for the average reader. Our group of talented and experienced communications professionals serve as key advisors to our most senior leaders.
Job responsibilities:
Identify relevant media opportunities and industry trends
Manage real-time media monitoring and developing coverage reports
Manage awards and rankings processes from start to finish
Conduct research and competitive analysis
Identify and secure external speaking opportunities for executives
Build and maintain relationships with reporters
Work with Control partners to follow and develop appropriate controls and processes
Create thorough media briefings
Draft press releases, pitches and talking points
Maintain media trackers
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
3+ years of experience in media relations
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner
Ability to handle multiple projects at once, manage various deadlines and adapt quickly to changes
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Ability to work both independently, as well as collaboratively and effectively, in a group setting and communicate both verbally and in writing
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is a must
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Experience with financial services sector a plus and interest in wealth management industry
Bachelor's degree required
