POSITION DETAILS
CUNY Online, part of the Office of Academic Affairs, is dedicated to advancing accessible, high-quality online education across the University. By empowering colleges to develop and enhance asynchronous programs, CUNY Online supports the University's mission to expand learning opportunities for diverse student populations. Marketing and communications are integral to the success of CUNY Online, driving awareness, enrollment, and engagement through strategic campaigns, digital advertising, and program-specific guidance that amplify the impact of online offerings throughout the CUNY system.
The Manager of Marketing and Communications, CUNY Online will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of marketing strategies aimed at promoting CUNY’s online programs. Reporting to the University Director of Marketing and Communications, this position will assist in the creation of performance-driven marketing campaigns, manage day-to-day operations related to content creation and optimization, manage social media and creative, and support advertising efforts. The incumbent will help ensure that all campaigns are data-driven, tailored to reach diverse audiences, and align with CUNY’s enrollment goals.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Oversee content updates for the CUNY Online website and ensure accuracy and consistency across marketing materials.
Develop and execute paid social media and digital marketing strategies to engage prospective students, drive leads, and support enrollment goals.
Provide input in the development and implementation of integrated marketing and communications plans across multiple platforms to promote Online education programs.
Manage the creation of new social media accounts and collaborate on branding strategies.
Support media procurement efforts by coordinating placements, tracking performance, and collaborating with external vendors and central marketing staff.
Monitor campaign performance, gather data, and assist in reporting analytics to assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
Produce and manage the creation of presentations, reports, and other materials that communicate the outcomes and successes of CUNY’s Online programs.
Collaborate with internal teams, including admissions, program marketing staff, and support teams across the campuses, to ensure cohesive messaging and consistent brand representation.
Contribute to creative projects, including the development of marketing assets such as advertisements, social media content, and publications
NOTE :
Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.
Preferred:
Degree in marketing, communications, or a related field/discipline.
Six years of experience in marketing and communications within higher education or online learning environments.
Ability to work collaboratively and assist in managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Expertise in social media, social listening software, SEO strategy and optimization tools, display media, and search ads (Google, META, LinkedIn, YouTube, Hulu, etc.).
Strong analytical skills and experience with Google Analytics, reporting dashboards, data visualizations, and social insight tools.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to create compelling content for a variety of digital channels.

Develops advertising programs consistent within overall marketing plans to achieve image, awareness and/or enrollment goals
Implements programs in print, radio, broadcasting, mail, and electronic communications, coordinating with internal units and external service providers
Actively manages and moderates electronic content and marketing tools for both College and external web sites and sources, including social networks, video portals, and listservs
-Develops, tracks, and reports on both advertising costs (budgets) and results to assure goals are met; collects and analyzes data on exposure, traffic, and other metrics
May supervise staff and external service providers
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range is $90,375- $96,602 , commensurate with education, credentials, and experience.
