BMO Capital Markets Corp. seeks Manager III-PM Development in New York, NY, to translate user needs into technical specifications, write code and manage the preparation of design specifications. Drive the overall software development lifecycle including working across functional teams to transform requirements into features, managing development teams and processes, and conducting software testing and maintenance. Support system design, provide advice on security requirements and debug business systems and service applications. Utilize knowledge of algorithms, data structures and programming languages to develop high quality technology applications and services. Ensure that code/configurations adhere to the security, logging, error handling, and performance standards and non-functional requirements. Evaluate new technologies for fit with the program, system, and/or ecosystem and the associated upstream and downstream impacts on process, data, and risk. Follow release management processes and standards, and applies version controls. Build interdependent teams that collaborate across functional and operating groups to create the highest value for all stakeholders. Attract, retain, and enable the career development of top talent. Improve team performance, recognize and reward performance, coach employees, and manage poor performance. Requires: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Business or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience in IT or a business environment. Specific skills/other requirements - Experience must include: 4 years of experience with Equity Trading systems; 4 years of experience with the FIX protocol; Equities and derivatives sell side order management system software applications; Design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and test-driven development; High volume/low latency real time market data processing; Guiding junior developers on best practices of software engineering and through various development tasks; and Translating technical concepts into language for audience, including software engineers, business, and technical leaders. 100% remote role within commutable distance to NY.
