AON M&A Due Diligence Consultant - Insurance Broker or Underwriter in New York, New York

Aon Is looking for an M&A Consultant within our M&A Transaction Advisory Services team.

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced M&A Consultant within our Transaction Advisory Services team. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our M&A and Transaction Advisory Services business group within Commercial Risk Solutions. As an M&A Consultant, you will work closely and report into one of our Risk & Insurance Diligence teams in Boston, Dallas, New York, St. Louis and San Francisco.

Location: New York City or St. Louis

Work Style: Hybrid - in office 2 to 3 days a week.

Your Impact As A Mergers & Acquisitions Consultant

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead due diligence projects of varying complexity.

  • Communicate internally with brokers, coverage / exposure experts, originators, client service team and M&A team members, externally with private equity firms, target companies or their representatives, insurers.

  • Write due diligence reports and deliver to clients.

  • Develop solutions to transaction issues and coordinate implementation.

  • Prepare spreadsheets and analyze data.

  • Provide ongoing relationship management oversight to certain private equity clients.

  • Communicate and capture the value that Aon brings even to the most challenging situations.

  • Prepare proposals and make presentations to clients and prospects.

  • Some travel required.

    You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

    Required Experience:

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.

  • Project management – coordinate activities and information flow from a group of people within specified time frame.

  • Detail orientation, but ability to draw conclusions and see big picture.

  • Communication (written and oral) – ability to communicate well and at the appropriate level with a wide range of people.

  • Ability to perform under stress / tight time frames.

  • Ability to develop relationships / build confidence of others (both internally and externally) based upon work performed.

  • Financial – basic understanding of financial statements, accounting

  • Results oriented.

  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Power Point

  • Broker’s license or willingness to obtain.

  • Insurance experience strongly preferred.

    Preferred Experience:

  • CPCU a plus

  • MBA, CPA or JD a plus

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

    Pay Transparency Laws:

    The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $120,000 to $180,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
