Fedcap Licensed Master Social Worker in New York, New York

We are hiring in NYC! Join us at Fedcap Inc. for an exciting career as a Social Worker. Salary: $65,000 per year Successful candidates will Be Required to provide documentation during the On boarding process.

The Social Worker will work with the program participants, ages 18-24, providing support and counseling to improve the youth and young adult life The Social Worker will alternate between Manhattan and Bronx sites as coordinated by and/or with their supervisor.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide one-to-one counseling as needed as well as group counseling sessions

  • Maintain regular contact with participants to meet program standards and achieve program retention

  • Ensure that referrals are made to appropriate internal and external services as required to meet the needs of the participants and their families

  • Write progress notes on sessions with program participants

  • Meet with program participants in groups and one-on-one

  • Conduct a thorough assessment, develop a psycho-social that informs the Individual Service Strategy (ISS), and assist with the development of educational and career-related goals collaboratively with participants based on the motivational interviewing process

  • Maintain open communication with program participants and program graduates through face-to-face contact, phone contact, and social media such as Facebook

  • Communicate regularly with partners who refer and/or supervise participants.

  • Provide outcomes reporting

  • Maintain participant files, including progress notes and reports on progress toward goals

  • Provide follow-up services for program graduates

  • Provide weekly reports to the program director

  • Participate in regularly scheduled supervision and ongoing training

  • Attend meetings and participate in professional development training offered

Education and Experience:

  • Licensed Master's Degree in Social Work (LMSW or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).

  • Two (2) years of experience providing social work/mental health services to youth and young adults, including one year of experience with disconnecting youth and young adults within the last five years.

  • Experience working within a youth development model is a plus

  • Ability to evaluate and intervene in crises

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
