Job Description
Ensures the efficient operation, repairs and maintenance of all equipment and utilities within the division of plant operation. Maintains and monitors all fire and safety systems in order to provide a safe environment.
Job Responsibility
- Monitors building management systems computers for efficient operation of power, heat, water, air conditioning and fire systems.Make adjustments from computers as necessary.
- Conducts daily rounds in all buildings, grounds and mechanical spaces to ensure proper operation of equipment.Makes repairs and adjustments as necessary.Makes recommendations for major repairs.Ability to cut in emergency generator in case of power failure.
- Performs all duties of electrician such as patient calls for lighting, call lights, power outage, etc.Makes emergency and operational decisions to ensure maintenance of all services: electrical systems, HVAC, steam and other utilities for continuous operation and service to patient areas.
- Performs continuous scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment by replacing or repairing parts, adjusting, lubricating, etc.in order to avoid failures.Ability to operate all utility systems and make necessary emergency repairs as necessary.
Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Minimum of three (3) years experience in electrical maintenance including two (2) years electrical courses and one (1) year basic electronic circuit courses, required.
Minimum of four (4) years experience in maintenance of plant operations such as electric, steam, water, air conditioning and medical gases, required.
Refrigeration license preferred.
NYC G17 Bulk Medical Gas Certificate, required.
Maintains required certificate of fitness as required by FDNY and AHJ (Authority having jurisdiction).
Experience in building management system computers with direct digital controls (DDC) for heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), required.
Ability to troubleshoot problems using electrical and mechanical blueprints. Ability to diagnose problems in any utility and make repairs as necessary. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership skills. Sound knowledge in electrical and electronic controls. Strong interpersonal relationship skills. Interprets electrical and mechanical blueprints. Working knowledge of all building, grounds, facilities and department work areas, required.

The salary range for this position is $46.02-$49.52/hour
