Job Description

Correct Salary: $52,729.00 - $60,638.00

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the largest public housing authority in North America. NYCHA is home to approximately 3.9% of New York City’s population: it provides housing for more than 339,900 low-income New Yorkers through its public housing and Section 8 leased housing programs. NYCHA is comprised of 277 developments across the five boroughs of NYC, consisting of approximately 160,000 apartments in 2,106 buildings.

Under the direction of Operations Manager for Riis satellite office in abatement unit of Lead Hazard Control Department, the Lead Abatement Worker responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

  1. Lead based paint removal and containment.

  2. Follow rules and regulations when working with Lead Based Paint.

  3. Record data from work that is performed.

LEAD ABATEMENT WORKER - 31311

Qualifications

  1. Three years of full-time satisfactory experience in general maintenance/construction work involving carpentry, painting, plastering, and/or plumbing.

Driver's License Requirement

Before you can be appointed to this position, you must have a motor vehicle driver's license valid in the State of New York. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
