Mizuho's Banking Division provides corporate and investment banking coverage, sponsor coverage, advisory and solutions and loan capital markets/syndicate to Mizuho's client base of leading international corporations, financial institutions and public sector entities in the US and Canada.

Banking supports client business activities throughout the region with an extensive range of capital markets and lending capabilities and an integrated team of coverage, advisory and product bankers responsible for client relationship management and strategic transaction development to execute banking and securities mandates and originate idea generation for potential acquisitions, divestitures and investment opportunities.

Job Overview

The Fund Finance Analyst will be directly involved in designing, originating, structuring and executing fund finance lending products such as subscription lines and NAV lines, related global capital markets, financial risk management, structured & syndicated finance, and other global products and services for existing and prospective clients, under the direction of senior staff.

A successful candidate will focus their efforts on, among other items, supporting the origination, execution and on-going portfolio management of subscription lines, NAV lines and other fund-related financings made available to best-in-class fund managers. Duties will include assisting in the execution of transactions, preparation of client and internal presentations, client on-boarding, credit memos and portfolio management such as annual credit reviews. An Analyst is expected to understand the implications, identify key industry and product trends and provide input on pitch and deal material to enhance the ultimate deliverable.

Analysts are assigned to a variety of projects and are given a broad range of responsibilities, some of which will include:

  • Partnering with senior staff to facilitate and coordinate product group idea generation and solutions including ad-hoc reporting, drafting client pitches and marketing materials, amongst others.
  • Assisting KYC team processes by collecting information and explaining private equity fund structures.
  • Manage internal databases and work on ad-hoc projects.
  • Evaluating risk/return parameters of fund financing transactions.
  • Assisting in the underwriting of transactions including preparation of credit memos, due diligence and execution of fund financing transactions.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders including credit risk and portfolio management teams to support on-going portfolio management functions including annual credit reviews, regulatory reporting and managing rating model process.
  • Assisting in syndicating agented transactions and agency functions.
  • Engaging as needed and when appropriate with external stakeholders including clients, agent banks, participant banks and legal counsel.


Qualifications :
  • Bachelors degree preferably in or related to Finance, Accounting or Economics or up to 1 year of fund finance experience.
  • Knowledge of corporate finance, securities, financial markets and risk & pricing analysis.
  • Aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative ideas and/or product solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to convey ideas.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent and coherent deliverables.
  • Creativity and intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to work independently and must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with FactSet, CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, Microsoft Office.
  • Series 79 & 63 will be needed but can be earned on the job.


The expected base salary ranges from $110K - $130k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
