If 3 or fewer qualified Department of State Investigator 3 (License) respond to this posting, Civil Service may approve the permanent appointment of one of the qualified Investigator 3 (License) without further examination.Note: Non-competitive refers to not competing in an examination; the appointment will be competitive. If a provisional appointment is made, the appointed candidate will be required to compete in the next holding of the Investigator 4 (License) exam and be reachable for appointment from the newly established eligible list. The minimum qualifications for Provisional appointment are:One year of permanent, contingent permanent, or 55 B/C service as an Investigator 3 (License).It is essential that candidates clearly and concisely indicate exactly how they meet the above minimum qualifications in their resume. FINGERPRINTING QUALIFICATIONS: Appointment to this position may require that the candidate successfully undergo an investigative screening including a criminal history check.Duties Description The Investigator 4 (License) duties in the Division of Licensing Services will include but are not limited to the following:•Direct and coordinate the Division’s enforcement activities, ensuring goals are met and activities are followed according to Division policy and standards.•Plan, organize and train professional level staff.•Communicate regulatory and procedural changes ensuring proper implementation.•Prepare cases and provide testimony at hearings.•Provide statistical and narrative reports to administration and executive staff on a regular basis.•Provide guidance and training to staff.This position will be filled in either Albany or NYC and travel 20 percent of the time to support both locations.Additional Comments The Department of State is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
