Interest Rate Derivatives AssociateCapital One is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Corporate Derivative Sales Associate. As part of the Interest Rate Derivatives Marketing team, the individual will primarily assist the sales team service the group's Commercial Banking clients, addressing their financial risk management needs through the provision and strategic application of interest rate derivative products while meeting defined sales targets. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and develop your expertise ininterest rates and derivatives while contributing to the success of our Commercial Banking and Capital Markets organizations.
General Responsibilities
Foundational knowledge of the interest rate derivatives sales business, its products, clients, systems and key processes
Foundational knowledge of Capital Markets, covering interest rate derivatives and an ability to understand, manage and deliver a diverse product set to our client base
Bachelor's degree in related field plus 3-5 years of relevant work experience in commercial banking, interest rate derivatives, or other fixed income asset classes preferred
High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required
Experience with Bloomberg and interest rate hedging products preferred
Work with and support a team of Interest Rate Derivatives marketers and assist with identifying new sales opportunities that address specific interest rate risk management needs of our clients throughout the transaction life cycle - from prospect identification to point of sale and through post trade execution process including but not limited to bespoke financial analysis, preparation customer presentations and pricing of transactions
Assist senior marketers with providing bespoke advice and recommendations to clients on interest rate and derivative products that best meet their financial needs
Build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of clients, including publicly traded corporations, financial sponsors and other market participants
Work closely with the sales team to develop and execute strategies for meeting sales targets
Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the interest rate derivatives market
Prepare and deliver presentations to clients on interest rate and derivative products, market trends, and industry developments
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as trading, risk management and legal to ensure timely and accurate execution of client transactions within a defined risk framework
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of interest rates and derivative products and stay current on industry regulations and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory guidelines.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or military experience
At least 5 years of experience in Interest Rate Derivatives or Foreign Exchange sales
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in business administration, finance, economics, or accounting
CFA or CPA
$150,000 - $225,000 for Associate, DerivativesCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
