Job Title: Human Resources Specialist Trainee 2 Grade: 14 Salary: $52,753 to $63,167 The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is seeking a qualified, motivated, and dependable individual to fill a full-time position of Human Resources Specialist Trainee 2. Reporting to the RFMH Payroll Manager, this position will perform a wide variety of Human Resource tasks including job posting, onboarding and biweekly payroll items. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to regularly shift priorities to meet multiple deadlines. The successful candidate will be dependable, organized, a self-starter and team player with excellent communication and time management skills. The candidate should also be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe. This position will offer remote work (up to 50%) after training has been completed and the candidate has shown the ability to work independently. Responsibilities/job requirements include but are not limited to: Assist the Payroll Manager with bi-weekly payroll including payroll entry, hourly voucher entry, and any applicable payroll tasks Prepare job posting for approval, including reviewing job template, job descriptions and all required verifications. Complete the onboarding of all new employee at the New York State Psychiatric Institute Assisting new employees with benefit enrollment forms Assisting existing employees with benefit and payroll inquiries Labor distribution and effort monitoring Employment verifications Communicate regularly with employees, administrators, and off-site human resource/payroll offices Create and maintain simple to complex spreadsheets using Excel Monitoring of main shared mailbox Requesting and delivering employee email account and training information Processing onboarding employees through E-Verify Processing of PSFL requests Maintaining electronic files for employees Other duties and projects as needed Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and one year of professional Human Resources Experience Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree and two plus years of Human Resources experience. Special consideration will be given to those who have prior experience using Oracle and are bilingual Non-resident alien taxation experience.
