The Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and New York-Presbyterian Hospital invites applications for a full-time faculty position, at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level, to serve as Director of the Center for Oral, Facial, and Head Pain in the Section of Hospital Dentistry, Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Reporting to the Chair for Section of Hospital Dentistry and Director of the Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the incumbent's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: conduct research and include clinical and didactic teaching at the pre- and postdoctoral level, as well as patient care in the Orofacial Pain Clinical and the OFP faculty practice. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing an independent line of investigation that advances health research and establishes the individual as a nationally and internationally recognized leader in the field. This includes seeking external funding to support innovative research, dissemination of findings through peer-reviewed research publications, and presentations at local, national and international scientific conferences and meetings. The successful applicant will also contribute to the didactic and clinical teaching responsibilities of the College and will be expected to teach, mentor and advise predoctoral and postdoctoral students and residents. Service to the College and the University will include membership in various committees and working groups. The research, teaching and service activities of the applicant should also be in alignment with, and contribute to the advancement of, the College of Dental Medicine's mission and that of Columbia University and support interprofessional education, practice and service initiatives.
Requirements: DDS or DMD degree from an ADA-accredited dental school, A strong track record of extramural grant funding as well as experience in the clinical management of patients with orofacial pain and dental sleep medicine are preferred.
The ideal candidate must have completed an accredited OFP training program or equivalent with board eligibility/certification. New York State dental license, or the ability to obtain NYS licensure, is required.
