Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in New York, New York

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the non-profit sector in New York, New York. We are looking for a talented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will have a variety of responsibilities, including processing payroll, managing accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 60 employees

• Manage timecards and ensure they are approved by the appropriate supervisors

• Update system for employee's desired changes to deductions, direct deposit, etc. as needed

• Handle requests for confirmation of employment as required

• Obtain necessary approval for invoices and enter them into accounting software

• Mail checks after obtaining appropriate signatures

• Handle accounts receivable tasks such as scanning donation, tuition, and space use checks for deposit to the appropriate bank account

• Take cash donations to the bank once a month

• Record church donations in the membership database and apply to the appropriate giver

• Enter all deposits into the accounting software. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a full charge bookkeeping role.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems.

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suites, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.

• Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions.

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Proven ability in performing bank reconciliations.

• Demonstrated experience in handling billing functions.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-profit environment.

• Commitment to maintaining confidential information.
