MUFG Front Office Systems Support Specialist – Vice President in New York, New York

The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

Role Summary:

This new position will be responsible for delivering solutions to the Rates and Credit business, supporting both cash and derivatives execution flow globally connected to 30+ exchanges which provide real-time trades and market data. The candidate must have extensive experience working in ION technology such as MMI/Sysadmin, front Office trading systems, STP, Pricing and Risk Management, Operations and TRACE reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • The Front Office Solutions group is responsible for integrating, developing, and supporting the firm’s electronic trading and pricing platforms, CRM system, and straight through trade processing infrastructure.

  • The group consists of a team of developers and support staff that deliver solutions through proprietary development and the integration of third-party applications.

  • We are working on a new generation trade processing and reporting solutions to support all Fixed Income products.

  • The team is responsible for delivering solutions to the Rates and Credit businesses supporting both cash and derivatives execution flows globally.

  • This is a real time trade processing system that handles activities like trade and position management, risk management, fees and commissions, market processing and reporting. Our systems connect to 30+ exchanges globally to provide real-time trades and market data.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of application development experience in developing distributed mission-critical Trading or Transactional Analytics systems based on core Java and Java EE.

  • Working knowledge of databases and hands-on experience in UNIX/Linux environment

  • ION technologies experience is a must, familiarity with ION API component installation and configuration

  • Extensive experience working in ION technology MMI/SysAdmin and Front Office trading systems and processes, Pricing and Risk Management

  • Extensive experience in managing the D2D/ D2C gateways, Market connectivity and resolving client/trader queries.

  • Working experience in ION API Java development and interface with ION Sysadmin and MMI.

  • Experience developing multi-threaded, low latency applications in the Fixed Income space, particularly in rates and credit domain is a big plus.

  • Experience designing and developing enterprise grade software.

  • Good knowledge of test-driven development and experience using agile development practices. Knowledge and appreciation of automated unit testing

  • Engage with the trading and sales desks to provide support for all aspects of pre and post trade execution

  • Act as the support contact for internal and external clients.

  • Review issues with the client to establish the true source of the problem (i.e., a software issue or configuration/ set-up error)

  • Interface with senior support and development personnel to recommend solutions and initiate corrective actions.

  • Exercise sound judgment while problem solving client issues and implement resolutions in a timely manner.

  • Troubleshoot application and data related errors

  • Manage trading system enhancement projects across internal stakeholders (such as Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams) and vendor platforms.

  • Act as a liaison for the trading desk with other internal teams (including Operations, Compliance, Client Onboarding, and Legal) and external vendor platforms.

  • Maintain functional documentation of trading systems and vendor platforms for handling production support issues, facilitating on-boarding, and implementing enhancement projects.

  • Functional requirements gathering and act as a business analyst in conjunction with Asset Class representatives and associated IT/Operations teams

  • Assist with coordination and execution of implementations of the system across global sites.

  • Work closely with the associated Development Manager to schedule deliveries, set timelines and coordinate deliverables.

  • Assist with training and configuration of new users on the system.

  • Manage, and in various cases, execute testing phases for deliverables including associated support and coordination across various stakeholder groups.

  • Develop an expert-level understanding of major global and local systems

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business Manager or Admi, Finance or Technology related fields or Equivalent work experience is equally preferable.

Other Qualifications:

  • As per MUFG’s Location & Return to Office Strategy policy, must work onsite for 4 days and 1 day remotely out of our 1221 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY office.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $134K - $165K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
