Overview

The Finance and Real Estate Analyst conducts financial analysis, market research, and investment evaluations to inform decision-making in real estate acquisitions, developments, and other property strategies. Manage the financial operations of the Office of Real Estate including payments, accounting journal entries, and maintenance of the departmental financial plan. Participate in all Office of Real Estate property searches, due diligence exercises, and legal document negotiations as an observer and recorder. Act as the departmental project manager to coordinate meetings, provide minutes of all Office of Real Estate meetings and calls, and follow up on all action items. Prepare agenda and materials for key Office of Real Estate meetings with internal leadership and University executives. Maintain and update records on all property owned/leased, all transaction outcomes, and comparable market activity. Maintain financial models and budgeting tools as well as log changes to the same for all Office of Real Estate workflows. Participate in interdepartmental interdisciplinary projects on key University initiatives and committees related to the real estate portfolio.

Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, Finance or other related field.

Required Experience:
3+ years relevant experience in finance, real estate analysis, investment banking, or a related field. Must have experience in financial modeling, valuation (both income-based and comparable sale methods), and benchmarking data analysis.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Adaptability to changing project conditions and unexpected obstacles. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated ability to understand management processes, requirements, frame analyses, and research. Proficiency in database applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with Oracle software including Hyperion Planning and financial reporting query. Knowledge of tax exemption, TC201, and RPIE filings. Background in New York City Real Estate or knowledge of real estate law and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
