Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Faculty Group Practice Staff Audiologist (37.5). In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary:Under general medical direction, with broad latitude for independent action and decision, performs highly technical and responsible professional work and is responsible for the planning, administration, direction and control of a hearing therapy program in a major hospital or health care service of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Supervises supportive and auxiliary personnel in administration of therapy or treatments as indicated on medical prescriptions received from various medical divisions.
    • Acts as liaison with other agencies concerning management of the patient and insuring appropriate follow-up procedure.
    • Evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and makes appropriate modifications.
    • Develops procedures and forms for hearing test activities or for the review of requests for hearing aids.
    • Trains personnel in the calibration and use of audiological equipment and in the conduct of hearing and hearing aid evaluations.
    • Participates in individual and group research projects, organizing and conducting such studies.Evaluates individuals with special audiological problems.
    • Prepares recommended budget requests for personnel, equipment and supplies.Answers letters and writes reports.
    • Develops and conducts in-service programs for professional personnel, students and other employees.Develops clinical practice programs for students in Audiology programs and plans courses of instruction. Directs and may participate in instruction and supervision of such students.
    • Attends evaluation conferences and rounds to discuss progress of patients and problems relating to therapy.
    • Consults with medical staff regarding recommended therapy services while acting in a liaison capacity with other services for the coordination of total care of individuals, particularly those with multiple handicaps.
    • Supervises preparation and maintenance of patient and administrative records and periodically reviews clinical records and progress reports of Audiology staff for accuracy and completeness.
    • Assigns, schedules and evaluates staff.
    • Instructs in new forms of therapy and revised techniques, use of new equipment, use of new or revised testing procedures, records or reports.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:A Doctorate in Audiology from an accredited college or university or the completion of all the requirements for a Doctorate in Audiology except the dissertation, and one year of full-time, paid, professional clinical experience within the last ten years as an Audiologist diagnosing audiological problems or performing hearing rehabilitation; or, A Doctorate in a related field such as Speech and/or Hearing Science from an accredited college or university or the completion of all the requirements for a Doctorate in a related field except the dissertation, and two years of full-time, paid, professional clinical experience within the last ten years as described in (1); or, A Master's Degree with a major in Audiology from an accredited college or university, including three-hundred hours of supervised clinical experience in Audiology, and four years of full-time, paid, professional experience within the past ten years in the practice of Audiology in a hospital, health care, rehabilitative or related facility, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.In addition, all candidates must possess a New York State license in Audiology.. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $90,837.76 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
