JPMorgan Chase Experiential/Spatial Design Director- Card, Vice President in New York, New York

The card business is seeking a hands-on, ideas-driven Experiential/Spatial Design Director for our Chase Card businesses. The candidate innately understands luxury positioning and can balance strong creative vision, with creative execution and leadership skills. This individual will ideally have design experience working with a global luxury brand or leading agency in the luxury industry. The candidate will provide comprehensive design direction and support across our card brands and play an integral role in design strategy for a variety of branded event and pop-up experiences and deliver cohesive and best in-in-class experiences for our card members.

As the Experiential/Spatial Design Director, in our Chase Card Business, you will partner and work collaboratively with the Head of Design, creative leads and Brand Managers as well as internal cross-functional teams and external agencies and vendors in the concept, design, development, and implementation of physical brand experiences.

Job Responsibilities

  • provide design direction and support across our physical branded card experiences (hands on as well as consulting) through creative ideation/conceptualization as well as architectural and spatial design.

  • Develop engaging mood boards in alignment with comprehensive briefs.

  • Develop and execute creative guidelines to ensure the brand shows up consistently across all customer touchpoints

  • Develop strong partnerships with multiple internal and external teams.

  • Champion creative and experiential design excellence across all customer touchpoints - driving the adoption of key brand strategies and best practices

  • Remain current and be inspired by emerging trends in design, art and culture to bringing creativity and innovation to the table as the landscape continues to evolve.

  • Occasional travel may be required

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • A strong portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experiential, brand-building designs in the premium space.

  • 6+ years of design experience, designing across multiple design disciplines including experiential design, spatial design, graphic design, and branding.

  • Bachelor's degree in design or visual arts.

  • Clear communicator and presenter, organized, obsessed with details, able to manage their time across multiple projects and deadlines, and communicate and collaborate with cross-functional partners and external experiential agencies.

  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and bring fresh ideas that will make us ask, 'why haven't we thought of this before'?

  • Extraordinary design aesthetic as applied to color, graphics, and typography with impeccable taste in current design trends, experiential design, art and culture

  • Possess exceptional software skills, including proficiency on Mac OS platform is a must. Thorough knowledge of the following applications is required:

  • Ability to communicate and present creative ideas and solutions to peers, managers, business partners and external agencies and suppliers.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Adobe CC (including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop), Figma, CAD capability is a plus.
