 We are seeking an exceptional Executive Producer to lead our flagship primetime program. If you’re a visionary leader with a passion for live, video journalism, and a track record of editorial excellence, we want to hear from you.

In this role, you’ll shape the direction of one of our most high-profile shows, collaborating with top-tier talent and overseeing the production from concept through to air. You’ll be a key decision-maker, combining strategic vision with a deep understanding of innovative production techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the daily editorial and production focus for a show that airs on both broadcast and streaming; have a deep understanding of both audiences

  • Be a leader in the control room, bring your depth of experience to breaking news

  • Collaborate with partners across NBC News to bring the very best of our reporting to air

  • Lead a team of senior producers, producers, APs, and PAs all looking to you for guidance

  • Elevate the show with creative production ideas and the ability to execute

  • Make sure everything in your show adheres to NBC News Standards

  • Use excellent editorial judgment to make quick decisions under pressure

  • Give clear guidance and feedback to the team

  • Collaborate and work closely with an experienced anchor team

  • Copy edit and write as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent editorial judgement

  • Proven track record successfully leading a live news program with clear results

  • Experience leading a control room   

  • Demonstrated track record as a calm leader under intense deadlines

  • Ability to work the hours needed to get the show on the air and get the next day going

  • You have big thoughts and the courage to voice them

  • You are highly collaborative and enjoy working as a team

  • You work with a diverse group of colleagues across business lines and levels – and enjoy it

  • You have a strong eye for elevated production

  • You have a Bachelors degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience

  • You are willing and able to work in person in New York, New York five days a week

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience overseeing a team for at least 3-5 years 

  • Experience producing high-quality news programming

  • Enjoys mentoring and leading a team of creators while unlocking their best work 

  • Creative in looking for new approaches, formats, and visual styles

  • A sincere love and passion for journalism

Additional Requirements:

  • Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
