City of New York Evidence And Property Control Specialist, Level II in New York, New York

Job Description

This position is open to current NYPD employees permanent in the Evidence and Property Control Specialist title.

Evidence and Property Control Specialists perform responsible work involving courier and storage functions for the transport, inspection, storage and delivery of legal and illegal substances and property, such as firearms, narcotics, cash, jewelry, etc., being held in evidence by Department field commands; and perform related work.

WORK LOCATION: 2 E 169th St, Bronx, NY 10452

WORK SCHEDULE: 0700 X 1500 - RDO SATURDAY/SUNDAY

NOTE: This position is open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a program. Please indicate in your cover letter that you would like to be considered for the position under the 55-a program.

Qualifications

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and

a. Two years of full-time, satisfactory experience in the areas of security, law enforcement and/or active military duty; or

b. Successful completion of 60 college semester credits at an accredited college or university with at least a 2.0 cumulative index grade point average.

Driver License Requirement: By the time you are appointed to this position, you must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. If you have moving violations, license suspension(s) or an accident record, you may be disqualified. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment.

Special Patrolman Requirement: At the time of appointment, you must meet the following qualifications for Special Patrolman status (a status given by the New York City Police Department pursuant to Title 38, Chapter 13 of the Rules of the City of New York).

To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, candidates must have, in addition to the minimum qualification requirements, at least one year of experience in Assignment Level I or in a supervisory capacity.
