Job Description:

This position is responsible for the management oversight including the identification and mitigation of EOL/VM compliance operational issues and will also assist in the maintenance of operational and key control procedures. Reporting to Technology Infrastructure and Operations, VP of Technology Governance for EOL/VM provides specialized expertise, advice, monitoring and oversight regarding the banks EOL/VM processes.

What will you do:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of MUFG’s Enterprise compliance and standards and operations and current and forecasted End of Life technologies, systems and applications.

  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of information, cyber, security, and technology risk concepts.

  • Issues Resolution Management – Oversee or monitor the satisfactory resolution of complex, contentious or sensitive regulatory compliance issues, ensure that all significant compliance issues such as gaps or risks are reported to the Senior Management as appropriate.

  • This requires routinely authoring detailed reports and gathering metrics to ensure stakeholders receive accurate and complete information.

  • Overarching Management of compliance of EOL and VM Technology and Operations: Applications and Infrastructure assets (Hardware & Software) from Governance framework, documentation, planning, deployment, and implementation at the Enterprise level

  • In partnership with ITAM and technology owners, drive operationalization of lifecycle management of all hardware and software supporting for all MUFG assets across the enterprise for all lines of business.

  • Lead specific initiatives that will support integration of technical processes, people, change management and business development efforts.

  • Provide senior management and executives with reporting and timely updates on forthcoming End of Life technologies and systems and challenges regarding vulnerability remediation.

  • Demonstrates an excellent understanding of systems architecture, hardware, operations, system life cycle, and information security along with investigative principles, incident response procedures, computer forensics, information security practices, and effective risk management.

  • Expertise and knowledge of current industry trends and risks in technology, such as cyber threats, and information risk standards to improve controls.

  • Skills: Strong MS Office skills along with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult, collaborate with senior IT staff, and lead teams to propose technology solutions; design, test, and implement technical projects; develop and execute review sessions for high-impact projects.

  • Create a project planning, reporting, and tracking framework; develop high-level work plans and proposals, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and budgets; develop descriptions for project justification, roles, responsibilities, and reporting structure.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on ITSM, ITIL, and comprehensive technology issues for internal and external customers; plan, coordinate, and/or provide training for project managers and administrators across technology.

  • Manage client relations; serve as a liaison among groups within and outside of technology; develop dispute resolution process, and direct, motivate, and develop staff to maximize their professional contribution.

  • Ensure effective, clear, concise communication flow among business process owners, project team members, and all stakeholders; ensure functional requirements, resourcing, budgets, and timing are all clearly communicated.

  • Ensure adherence and compliance with quality standards, related regulations, and existing design and implementation standards; manage all aspects of a program to ensure the program is implemented, accepted, and accomplished within a set deadline.

  • Lead the selection, implementation, and adoption of specific project management processes and tools to facilitate compliance with established methodologies.

  • Provide hands-on program management for multiple technology/development projects and teams

  • Establish project governance, working groups and communication with stakeholders

  • Scope and develop resource plans and budgets

  • Drive planning at the various organizational levels to ensure projects are on track/resourced

  • Ensure timetable and deliverable schedules are understood and communicated

  • Report project / program status

  • Proactively manage dependencies, coordinate across teams to resolve issues and mitigate risks

  • Contribute to executive-level updates on strategy, budget, project delivery, controls, risks, etc.

  • Organize required reporting for business and technology management review sessions

  • Track financials related to technology expenditures including software, hardware, and resource allocation

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in IT management, technology or operational risk management.

  • Strong background in security and risk with certifications preferred for CISSM/CRISC/CISSP

  • Post Graduate degree or equivalent work experience coupled with security, compliance and governance practice in complex programs with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities.

  • Extensive knowledge of risk management policies, methods, standards, processes, governance models, and in-depth knowledge of industry standard risk analysis approaches is required.

  • Demonstrates an excellent understanding of systems architecture, hardware, operations, system life cycle, and information security along with investigative principles, incident response procedures, computer forensics, information security practices, and effective risk management.

  • Expertise and knowledge of current industry trends and risks in technology, such as cyber threats, and information risk standards to improve controls.

  • Strong SQL skills and excellent communication/presentation skills including proficiency in all MS Office/MS SQL

  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.

  • Strong organizational skills, excellent time management, Advisory services, process improvements, regulatory compliance.

  • A strong understanding of technology, compliance governance and remediation procedures in the financial services industry.

  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to lead projects and initiatives achieving planned results in compliance operations.

  • Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers

  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses

  • Extensive technology program management experience in large, cross-organizational projects, prioritizing competing demands, scoping large efforts, and negotiating timelines

  • Strong experience within a technology organization in the banking or fintech industries

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and diverse projects including analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, problem solving, decision-making and managing programs that impact the entire organization

  • Understands the business, industry, and the role IT places in driving financial success

  • Expert in SDLC project and process management tools and methodologies

  • Communicates effectively

  • Anticipates changing business needs, adjusts priorities accordingly, and allocates necessary resources and budget to achieve objectives

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience

Certifications:

PMP certification preferred.

ITIL or COBIT, CISSM or CRISC or CISSP

The typical base pay range for this role is between $133K - $162K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
