Employee Relations Advisor

Exciting Opportunity at MSK

We are seeking a skilledEmployee Relations Advisor to join our team.Do you enjoy getting to the root of issues? Do you wish to use your knowledge to foster constructive employee relations and ensure the institute’s approach to its employees is fair, respectful, and consistent? We have over 20,000 employees at MSK. Our human resources team is a diverse and passionate group that acts as internal consultants to the institute. Our midtown-based team is currently, like most human resources departments, working hybrid.

Role Overview:

  • Serve as the point of contact to employees, managers, and HR Business Talent Consultants to resolve a variety of complaints and concerns that impact the employee experience.

  • Gather and analyze facts, applying relevant laws, policies and past practices to reach conclusions and recommendations.

  • Provide expertise, consultation, mentorship, and coaching to managers to address employee behavior and performance concerns.

  • Provide advice and assist with the development and delivery of appropriate feedback or corrective/disciplinary actions.

  • Lead various processes including, but not limited to, workplace accommodations, leave management, and involuntary separations.

  • Serve as facilitator for all employee grievances of employment actions and practices.

  • Work with ER leadership team to identify trends and develop initiatives to support our teams

  • Maintain required documentation, including intake and investigative notes, supporting documents, and final reports.

    Key Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in an Employee Relations role

  • Experience in managing or advising on employee relations issues at a supervisory or management level.

  • Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.

  • In-depth understanding of employment laws, regulations, and compliance issues.

  • Ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.

  • A trusted resource to employees, managers, and leaders

    Additional Information:

  • Location: 633 Third Avenue, NYC

  • Reporting to The Associate Director, Employee Relations

  • Schedule: Hybrid, requires flexibility to be onsite multiple days per week or as needed

    Pay Range: $98,500 - $157,600
